NEW YORK - We're not even finished celebrating Linda's 31st cover (including supplements) for Vogue Italia and now we get the news that Linda was photographed on an elaborate outdoor set in New York's SoHo neighborhood on Wednesday, August 5th, for reportedly an upcoming feature in W magazine. Once again, Linda takes on an extreme role -- and this time it's the Virgin Mary, "carried" by several men. Processions such as these are normal throughout Spain and Latin America but the Virgin is usually a statue.

On a chameleonic note, it appears Linda is back to a sandy shade of blonde and is letting her hair grow out again.

LINDA AND CINDY REALLY DID FILM PIZZA COMMERCIAL - BUT DID THEY ACTUALLY SWALLOW?

In other news, a treasure trove of Linda's past commericals have been showing up on YouTube, including the almost forgotten French Pizza Hut commercial with Cindy Crawford, originally released in 1996. Check out the fans outside the restaurant with "L-I-N-D-A" spelled out on their shirts! It's really cute and funny and we've posted it here for your viewing pleasure!

L'Oreal new ads line up for Cannes
Cannes film festival approaching, L'Oreal Paris have released a new series of glamourous ads as Cannes' official partner. I was just wondering: Why oh, why, Linda so often wears this boring white shirt... ???

Then Stephane came with an answer: it is not always white. It can also be black. tongue

So, guys, do you think Linda will show up on Cannes' red carpet? She could actually recycle the dress Azzedine Alaia designed especially for her for the "Model as a muse exhibition". I would be very curious to see it. smile

An Italian Love Affair
You might have been wondering where was originally published the photo that ended up on Model as a Muse exhibition catalog.... After considering several aspects, we traced it back to the Spring-Summer 1991 Dolce & Gabbana campaign by Steven Meisel featuring a Marilyn-like Linda with her impossible amore, Maximo Morrone.

So this is an opportunity to offer you more glimpses from this amazing campaign. Indeed, in early 2000, fashion photography converted itself to the so called "porno chic", a long dying trend that portrays fashion models in trashy sexual attitudes a la Terry Richardson or Tom Ford that leaves little part for subtlety or imagination. We are so used to these visions that they leave us emotionless. Despite this, the Spring-Summer 1991 Dolce Gabbana campaign, with no nudity or saturated colors, looks surprisingly dramatic and hot! Oh la la... tongue
