Linda supporting Studio Secrets Professional from L'Oreal Paris
Until l'Oreal Paris launched the Studio Secrets Professional make-up line a month ago, I had really mixed feelings about Linda E's advertisments for this brand. Of course, there was the advantage of seeing the supermodel in almost every women interest mag around the globe, but on the other hand, the way L'Oreal used Linda for their range of wigs left a lot to be desired, IMHO. They didn't really capitalise on the aura of one of fashion's most recognisable faces.

BUT... I have to say I'm really enthusiastic about Studio Secrets Professional line that Linda helped to develop in collaboration with James Kaliardos, L'Oreal's official make-up artist. It is just a perfect match. Backing up these new products on Linda's make-up expertise gives them special credibility and it looks like Linda is more engaged in return to promote them. After Mixte magazine, Linda has appeared on the cover of Madame Figaro and German Elle, with a special focus on products born from her tricks of the trade.

Shana posted a preview of the Studio Secrets Professional earlier, now 3 out of 5 secrets are in our gallery. Extraordinary fact, after recovering her voice in UK commercials thanks to one of her fans, Andrew McNaughton, Linda Evangelista also recovered some of her skin texture! Well, these are still not Bill King's Vogue Paris covers, but it already looks more human tongue

An Epic Photo, An Unforgettable Video
MEISEL’S MUSES

MEISEL’S MUSES

THE GODFATHER AND HIS GIRLS

Run, don’t walk, to your favorite magazine seller and pick up the May issue of Vogue (USA edition) before it sells out and you’re left out! This is one of those rare issues that you’ll likely treasure for a long time to come. Highlights include “The Godfather”, an interview with legendary photographer Steven Meisel. And, of course, Linda is there in a group shot with Meisel and his favorite girls. I’m hoping Meisel and Vogue will start selling a large print edition of this photo. Wouldn’t you love to put this on your wall? We plan to have the interview uploaded in the near future but for those who can’t wait, we suggest you go over to Vogue.com.

Linda On Exhibition Book Cover...Mixes it Up With Mixte...and More!
MODEL AS MUSE - THE BOOK!

MODEL AS MUSE BOOK COVER

Classic photo of Linda makes the cover of MODEL AS MUSE - the BOOK!

For those of us not fortunate enough (like me sad) to attend the New York Metropolitan Museum's much-anticipated exhibition The Model as Muse: Embodying Fashion, we can still somewhat partake of the experience as we have the opportunity to purchase the Model as Muse companion book published in conjunction with the exhibition. The book is now available for pre-order and you can order online either directly from Yale University Press or from Amazon. The model in the beautiful cover photo is none other than Linda Evangelista herself, circa 1991. Now the big question: Will Linda make an appearance at the gala?

MIXING IT UP WITH MIXTE MAGAZINE!

Linda on Mixte

Linda on the April 2009 cover of Mixte by Josh Olins

Linda is on the cover of the latest issue of French magazine Mixte and it is available on newstands now. A sort of artistically rendered (or artistically airbrushed tongue) vision of Linda is presented on the cover and in an interior editorial by photographer Josh Olins. The Mixte team met with Linda during the Paris haute couture shows and she agreed to appear in the magazine. Head over to the gallery to see the Happy Cosmic Girl on the cover and in the editorial!

Be my Muse !
It's raining muses in fashion magazines this month. You can't turn a glossy page without seeing a tribute paid to fashion models' extraordinary inspiring capability. Shana says they are all probably jumping on the bandwagon of the upcoming Costume Institute exhibition in New York : "The Model as Muse: Embodying Fashion", which will run from May 6 to August 9. Well, I won't complain as Linda Evangelista is always remembered.

But among all this NY Costume Institute exhibition disguised publicity, Linda also gets an individual tribute from French make-up artist Stephane Marais in this month's ID mag. And what a tribute! A double page of polaroids. laughing

This reminded me of a book that Stephane Marais released a few years ago - "Beauty Flash". A polaroid of Linda already graced the cover. This shows that this muse relationship is not just a trend, but a long-lived collaboration.

Spot the difference
Some time ago I remember arguing with someone whether L'Oréal Paris (or other cosmetic brands) really dye their models hair in their hair color ads... Well, I guess now we know their secret. wink They work with retouching experts ! I was amazed comparing these 2 ads... I really wonder if Linda still needs to come to their photo sessions. tongue
